Coach Annie began her dance training at the age of four at the Cary Grove Performing Arts Centre where she danced until college. Over that time, she trained in ballet, tap, jazz, modern and pointe. Annie continued her dance studies at the University of Wisconsin—Whitewater. She minored in Dance, primarily focusing in on modern technique, composition and performing. Performance highlights include performing at the American College Dance Festival as well as the Cornerstone Arts Festival in Liverpool, England.
Annie was apart of the Cary Grove Dance Team for two years and the Cary Grove music department (musicals and show choir) for four years. She also served at as the Vice President of the UWW Dance Company.
Currently, Annie is a dance instructor as well as a free lance choreography and technique consultant for dance teams in the area. She is also a graduate student at Loyola University Chicago earning her Ed.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in hopes to become an Art or Dance Therapist.
One of Coach Annie’s favorite quotes is, “Always be a first rate version of yourself, instead of a second rate version of someone else.”-Judy Garland. Dance has always been an integral part of Annie’s life and Annie’s focus is the discipline and technique of dance. She is thrilled to be giving back her passion for dance to the team through coaching.
